Why Skills Matter
Losing a job can be devastating, but having practical skills offers a new beginning. At Beyond Self Foundation, we believe that every challenge is an opportunity for growth.
These two young women, who have been working with USAID, found themselves unexpectedly unemployed. They reached out to us, determined to reshape their futures through hands-on learning.
• Skill empowerment: Beyond Self Foundation provides training in tailoring, business management, and vocational skills to equip individuals with self-sufficiency.
• Financial independence: Instead of relying on unstable job markets, they are now learning how to create their own income streams.
• Community impact: When we uplift one person, we uplift an entire community. These women are not just gaining skills for themselves but will soon be able to train and empower others.
At Beyond Self Foundation, we don’t just teach skills—we create paths to a sustainable future.
The Journey of Resilience
Meet Jane-Francis and Anita, two ambitious young women who had secured jobs with USAID, eager to build successful careers. They worked hard, believing they had stability until recently, when everything changed unexpectedly. Due to funding cuts from USA, they were laid off, left with no income and no immediate job prospects.
The shock is overwhelming. With bills piling up and limited job openings in their field, they faced uncertainty. But instead of giving up, they sought a way forward.
That’s when they found Beyond Self Foundation.
Upon joining, they are discovering a world of possibilities. Jane-Francis had always loved fashion but never thought of it as a career. Now, she is mastering tailoring and plans to start her own boutique. Anita, on the other hand, had a passion for business but lacked practical knowledge. Through our entrepreneurship training, she is learning how to run a profitable venture.
Their days are now filled with learning, creativity, and growth. They are regaining confidence, knowing they can stand on their own. In just a few months, these two women will not only be earning but will also become role models for other young women facing similar struggles.
Their journey proves that job loss is not the end—it’s a new beginning when the right opportunities are available.
